Pilot and Lab systems

Sepra offers a complete range of pilot plants, from lab scale to industrial prototypes. We designed MEMBRATEST system for research centers, universities and manufacturing companies that want to study cross flow filtration system on a small scale for separating, concentrating or clarifying solutions.

MEMBRATEST system is based on the principle of cross-flow filtration technology, with the purpose of physical separation of different molecular weights in solution by semi-permeable membranes.

Microfiltration, Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration, Reverse Osmosis

The plant must simply be connected to a process line feeding the liquid to be treated or to a supply tank previously loaded with appropriate quantity of sample liquid (normally 20-100 liters). Separation test will be performed, in batch or in continuous mode, with the possibility to use polymeric or ceramic membrane. The feed tank can also be used for cleaning.

High flexibility in operation allows to check the performance of different types of membrane with limited use of resources (time and material cost). Fully significant results are obtained in regards to the effectiveness of the separation (rejection data); indicative data regarding the permeability, the evolution of fouling and the cleaning mode are also obtained.

There are basically three types of Membratest pilot lab systems and only one that will fit flat sheet membrane:

  • Cod. 60 050 - Membratest HP for only laboratory polymeric membranes, 1812 spiral wound configuration, with various MWCO and material
  • Cod. 60 060 - Membratest LP for only laboratory ceramic membranes, 250 mm length, with various MWCO (MF, UF, NF)
  • Cod. 60 070 - Membratest Plus for both laboratory polymeric and ceramic membranes
  • Cod. 60 080 - Membratest SEPA CF for flat single layer polymeric membrane

Laboratory spiral wound polymeric membranes are used for medium/low molecular weight separation, saline solution separation, low level of suspended solids

Laboratory polymeric hollow fiber membrane are particularly suitable for fluids containing an over the average percentage of suspended solids and are resistant to extreme PH levels but can't be used in high pressure enviroment

Laboratory polymeric tubular membranes are developed to process fluids containing a high percentage of suspended solids

Laboratory ceramic tubular membranes are used for high molecular weight separation, high levels of suspended solids, high level of temperature and pH

Laboratory flat sheet polymeric membranes are indicated for any type of small volume test, they can sustain various PH levels depending on the polymer and thanks to Membratest SEPA CF can substain high pressure.
